Joannie Stangeland’s most recent poetry collection, The Scene You See, looks at art, marriage, and the art of marriage (with some food and wine thrown in, as well as a bit of science). Her previous books In Both Hands and Into the Rumored Spring. are also available from Ravenna Press. In addition, Joannie’s the author of the pamphlet A Piece of Work and two poetry chapbooks: Weathered Steps and A Steady Longing for Flight, which won the Floating Bridge Press Chapbook Award.
Joannie’s poems have appeared in Prairie Schooner, Mid-American Review, The Southern Review, Valparaiso Poetry Review, and other journals and anthologies. Her poems have also traveled on Seattle-area buses.
Joannie has been a Jack Straw Writer and has taught at Seattle’s Richard Hugo House and LiTFUSE. By day, she works as a writer at a software technology company and helps out at the family winery.
